Not bad for guys who were in their late 60s then...and Cesar on drums, wow... Btw, the extra guitarist is George's American friend and sometime collaborator, Frank Carillo.

(64,995 posts)One of my favorite songs ever, plus a version I've never heard.
It's really good!
I love that they used the horns. That part is so important to the sound of the original.
Also, the lights are cool.
Finally, I want that tiger maple Les Paul he's playing.

Good!
I was hoping.you'd look at this video.
Hey, with this band, you should expect it to be good.
I agree. Though even the acoustic version of "Radar Love," with just the four in the band, still sounds great. Btw, the guy in the cap playing saxophone is their old friend Bertus Borgers, who was touring with them back in the ' 70s. He and George are good enough friends that when Barry gave a bit of an update on George's health late last year, he mentioned that George, who could still walk around then, was out with Bertus and they were laughing. Barry thought they'd been drinking...and he said he thought that was the best remedy, and that George sounded good.
They put on an amazing show.
Me, too. That's a gorgeous guitar, and it sounds incredible, especially with his playing. Love watching video of him playing guitar. Hate that he can no longer play, because of ALS. Golden Earring would almost certainly still be doing concerts and recording some new music if he weren't so ill.
Joe Bonamassa has one of George's guitars. Guitar World article on it, with video of Joe talking about that one and another guitar he'd added to his collection. Link below, and the section of the video on the guitar that had belonged to George starts at 2:13.

concert they were doing at the Ahoy arena in Rotterdam, and the clip shows both that saxophonist, Bertus Borgers, mentioned in reply 2, and what appears to be the same guitar Joe Bonamassa is talking about in that Guitar World video I linked to there.
