New guitar, here I come.

So I have one of these...

...and I just bought one of these, a Harley Benton G212 Vintage cab with (2) Celestion Vintage 30's, to put under it...

...total for both coming in at less than 400 bucks. I had expected to pay 700 or 800 to a grand for an amp, but the cab from Harley Benton is a loss leader and was really cheap, and I mean insanely cheap. In fact it cost less than the two Celestions would if I bought them separately.

So anyway, I had earmarked two grand for a new amp and guitar, and now I've unexpectedly got about $1600 left in the budget for a decent guitar. My Epi Les Paul sounds sweet, but I'm up to a 3.5" wide strap now and my arm still feels like it's going to fall off if I play for more than twenty minutes. My $150 Cort, while very comfortable to play, sounds like caca plugged in.

I'm headed to GC tomorrow and probably Monday. Any suggestions?

(EDIT: I bought the Micro Terror a few years back, so you might say that technically I still have $1750 left in the budget...lol.)

I have a MIK Tele (neck-thru) that is fantastic to play. Awesome sustain, great humbuckers, but when I first saw it, I didn't like it. Oh yeah--half the weight of an LPS. It took playing it to win me over, never regretted it.

2. I've been playing a ton of Strats recently. Tele's havent really been on my radar. But they are now.

7. I dunno about Reverb, but I've seen a lot of cool stuff when I hit "Used" at GC's website.

Reverb gives me the heebie jeebies. But I'm just outside of L.A., so I've got a ton of brick and mortar stores I can go to.

I'd go USA Strat.

Good luck on whatever you do!!!

Curious though... Would that Amp be sufficient to push a 2x12 cabinet on stage and be heard over the drums, PA, etc?

11. I've used it on a 4x12 in my nephew's garage, and it was plenty loud.

Never with live acoustic drums, though. But I'm not a gigging musician, so that's not really a thing.

What I do know is it's got enough punch to piss off the neighbors. But one of 'em fixes Volkswagens and dirt bikes, and the other one runs a band saw, so as long as it's not too far past the dinner hour they put up with me and I put up with them. We've been really nice to each other for 12 years now. Anyway, I've got a decent headphone amp, and there's a headphone jack on the Micro, so I'm good.
