The speech of Nitro vs Poly finishes and long neck tenon vs medium or no tenon on guitars as in I can’t tell the difference on tone maybe because I use a hearing aid .

Although I did say on fender American standards if it is true on finish, I wouldn’t buy anything used until 2008 and beyond as in 08 Coronado started using really thin poly coats. And son I’m not being a racist Mexican strats awesome guitars yet never buy one from the 90’s why because some of them were made with poplar.

And then finally I said on Les Paul’s I really do not think tenon size matters. It’s the player and having the guitar set up that you’re comfortable with. Next father son discussion will be tube vs non solid state on amps always go tube son if you can.

Surprisingly it went well and was not awkward at all no clue why I’ve been putting it off. We actually did have this discussion yesterday last 24 hours of News been shit hoping for little humor this morning.

The other is ash.
Alder is not quite as soft as poplar but among hardwoods, it's in the soft class.
I can't say the wood is the tone difference because the 2 guitars have VERY different pickups.
The ash body has Fender Vintage Noiseless & the alder has Seymour Duncan SSL-1.
So, for me the wood isn't a very big effect on tone, although the two have quite different sounds.

A Greco se 700 it sen which they say is like ash. A friend makes and wraps pickup wax potted. I wanted a set of grey bottoms wired it up with period wiring caps pot.

And then recently we purchased a 2007 American standard that our thirteen year old junior high guitar teacher had. And it came with after market Lollars professor Llollars vintage and they are sweet. The guitar is heavy it is made of ash.

The one E series I love is a 84 MIJ alder aftermarket set of mothers milk in it. I do agree pickups add to the guitar Gac.
