I messed up a bit today on numbers when posting the comp so removed my entry to accommodate, and so I am posting my entry hereWhen I was at home for my birthday in March, visiting the twin, we had a really lovely night away in the Mourne Mountains with friends that stretch into the far back time machine of teenage years. https://walkni.com/mourne-mountains-destination/
We were heading to my twins house the next day and had to get on the ferry across the Strangford Lough. Cold and windy, and stunning. I had to get out of the car on The Slip, Strangford to take some pictures. Based on the outstanding talent this month it is very doubtful that I would have made the finals, but I want to share it anyway, because you know loves, when you find peace and beauty, even as you are shivering with the wind from the Lough, when you can continue in life to face down lots of heart rending memories, and can still find wonder in that which is around you - that matters, I think. Reclaiming the beauty and not having to go into the archives, as I have done over the last 18 months means the world to me.

(149,583 posts)Removing your photo was a very generous action! I wondered whose photo had gone, since I hadn't taken the time to search it out.
And this quote: ...you can continue in life to face down lots of heart rending memories, and can still find wonder in that which is around you - that matters, I think.
So beautiful! You have the heart of a poet. And you speak the truth.
Thank you!

(7,346 posts)It's a lovely picture - both representational and like an abstract color field painting.
I miscounted the tally and thought there were 30 entries. I would have gladly withdrawn my second one, it ain't gonna be winning no prizes anyhow! I'm sorry!

(8,308 posts)what happened with that. I always look at all the photos before they get moved since people here bring us such wonders to behold. And you certainly do that. That is a lovely photo and is matched by your lovely thoughts.
