How do I change the size of pictures I post

to DU?
I have been posting pictures for a while now but some seem really large on display.
I bring them from Flicker, currently, and they size there to fit on the screen.
When I link to DU I have to scroll to see the whole picture.
Is there a way to cut down the size so they will fit better and one can see the whole picture.

1. Are the pictures on Flicker posted there from your own PC?

If they are on your PC, they can be resized in Paint.

2. Flickr photo sizing

To get the size you want to post here from Flickr, go to the image you want. In the lower right there's an option to download the picture, if you click on the arrow, you'll have an option to view all sizes, click on that. On the next page it will show all the options you have to download. One of the options is Large 1024, click on that if it doesn't take you directly to that size. You can right click on your image and choose copy image address and paste that into DU.

3. Either resize before you upload to Flicker or try Postimage.

They have an option to resize your original to a variety of sizes. Free accounts, too.

To resize yourself, you almost certainly have an image editing tool on your system that will resize & crop images. Right click on an image file & see what applications you can choose from to open the file with.

8. Thanks for the Postimage link, CrispyQ. I, too, have wanted to resize images for easier viewing.

Created an account and resized a photo I posted last night which was too large to view without scrolling. Works well and it's free.

4. Lazy person's guide to DU photos:

I take a screenshot of the photo. (save it and upload it)

Screenshots are consistently the same rough size each time.

No EXIF information leaking to the world divulging the model and serial number of the lens, either.

In a way, that's theft protection for your lens (like etching the serial number) but OTOH, it's creepy to me.

7. Seems to work

By changing the size. The size selection also seems to stick at the last requested setting. Which is good for loading more than one.
