Those are lovely, I think that kind smells the best. And they look more delicate.

My first spring here, in 2021, I thought there was something wrong with it. Turns out that some lilacs have little to no fragrance. I have to crush the blossoms to smell them. I love the smell of lilac and was looking forward to walking out my back door and getting a whiff on the breeze. Disappointing, but it is a beautiful bush.

The kind that looks like that around here have a delicate perfume scent and it's subtle but alluring.

It was my favorite place to be. It was so large, and I could walk inside it and be enveloped by the aroma. I always wanted to plant one here where I live, but I was definitely one born with a brown thumb. I bring healthy looking plants home, google how to take care of them, and no matter what I do (or don't do), they seem to talk among themselves and say, "okay... time to die!" (LOL)

Here it comes! I have crocuses and daffodils and hyacinths happening now! WOOOOHOOOOOOO!!! The lilacs are just getting started, and the blue balloon flowers won't wake up til later in the year.

of which were stolen by squirrels. They're planted atop my cat Penelope's grave in a shady part of the garden, which is why they were so slow to emerge. My daffodils are budding. The irises and day lilys are growing well, but it's too early for them to bud. The climbing clematis is climbing the trellis. Spring is my favorite season.

I’ve got lots of little shoots somehow poking their heads up through the dirt now! And I KNOW I didn’t plant that many!
