just got back from my baja photo expedition. on the trip we were accompianied by ralph lee hopkins,michael melford and bob krist,all national geographic photographers. they gave us classes and hints on shooting. heres a few pictures (i shot over 5000 in a week )

How did you do the top one?

(5,113 posts)30 sec exposure f8 iso 800. we took test shots so the sky would turn out purple with stars
we used an led light on the cactus for about 20 seconds,painint up and down. the rock on the right was lit by the ships spotlight for 10 secs (the ship was 1/4 mile or so off shore)

I like it. A lot.
