I didn't think cats knew how to do anything except adopt cute poses.
In his autobiography, Norman Rockwell explained his technique for posing finicky animals. Believe it or not, he said he'd pick up the subject, be it a cat or a chicken and "rough it up", shaking it and moving it around. Then he'd set it back down and claimed it sat motionless for him.
I never tried that, but I don't take many pictures of nervous chickens.

My dog does that too, especially when I have been on the laptop , phone or watching TV too long and not paying any attention to him!!
