(60,071 posts)Are those picnic tables to the extreme left in your photo? I use my finger to go section by section of landscape photos and such. Don't know why really.

(22,380 posts)it's a bit easier to show the season off
This little one's grandma wanted her to swim but could not show her how. She asked me to and show her some strokes. I responded and said OK, except I want to take a few shots of the little one under water in return, send her the best one by email ....
sometimes we do what we can to get the shots.
Thanks Peggy, I'm glad you like it. I do too.

(11,791 posts)It's a much better photo than mine, but I was a bit pressed for time.
Awesome entries so far!

(22,380 posts)back yard summer photo: I want it so stay in for sure.
It's wonderfully steamy and hot, therefore ever so seasonal and summery.
I suspect that the host will take it into his hands and enter it in the approved size of no more than 800 pixels on the longest size.
When I host and a photo comes in too large, I do it as a matter of course.
Good luck with your entry. I really like it very much.
Mira

(22,756 posts)I think of you when I am out in my little garden (but very big next year)... the tree stalk that you commented on... the one placed there to let the beans climb... is feeding me green beans EVERYDAY... big, green, flavorful, healthy beans

(31,374 posts)that people take. I am just blown away by many of them. Yet---here comes the but--
I am surprised sometimes by the distribution of votes in GD when the contests are put up for voting.
I was debating between the artsy/statement making photo--which I submitted--and another
photo which was more feel/good, summery scene of ducks on a pond with shadows/water/flowers.
It is definitely fun to watch the voting process.
Celebration
(15,812 posts)What is surprising to me is that sometimes there is wide variability in the voting between the preliminaries and the finals. Sometimes a feel good photo wins, and sometimes an arty one. I finally just decided to submit what I like and not try to predict the voting or what someone else will like. And since I started that I am way less attached to any sort of outcome! I truly just have fun.
So glad you joined.
