Today's Hawaii excursion

We went to the botanical garden today.

This is called beehive ginger.



I think this is bromeliad.



This is called a cannonball tree. Weird.



This flower was the size of a football.

I was just at the tropical botanical gardens on Kauai this past year, fantastic place! Great photos! I also saw a canon ball tree there, weird indeed.

2. Big Island

We're staying about 25 miles south of Hilo. It's spectacular here. Heading home tomorrow night.

My SIL was a gardener at a wonderful botanical garden on Kauai. It was where some of Jurrasic Park was filmed. Amazing place.

3. Th ginger is fabulous

Did they have any cannonballs that you could hold? They look like oak galls that we get on oak trees.
