Related: About this forumcomet ison next week
comet ISON appears to have survived its encounter with the sun. hopefully it will be visible to the naked eye next week, near the horizon around sunrise/sunset... its to early to tell how bright it will be.
it may make a good photography subject

I forget which comet it was that came around 12 or 15 years ago. I had gone out in my driveway to check it out, took one last look up before I went inside, slipped on some ice and smashed my face -- cracked my cheekbone and got a huge shiner. I won't make the mistake again. .
