(46,436 posts)It started out not too bad, but it's gray and dreary now. Timed just right this time around.

(149,580 posts)Now, this is what I wish I had gotten, instead of my silly little crumb!
But all I had was my 50 mm fixed focal length lens...the zoom lens is full of dust and quite useless since I went to the Antelope Canyon.
This is stunning. The color, the feeling of an orb........wonderful!
Congrats!

(14,124 posts)It was gorgeous here in Indiana, too! So glad I was able to see it at 7:00 a.m. instead of 3:00 a.m.!

(46,436 posts)I was happy to see a couple of stars and I wanted them to be in the photo. If I look at this full-sized on my computer, I can see many more.
But, obviously, the moon is the star here.
What was really surprising to me was how fast the moon moved across my frame at this magnification. I'd start out with it up in the left-hand corner like this and 5-7 minutes later when I went outside for the next shot, it would be way over on the right. I'd have to continually reframe and refocus over the three-hour period.
