I made the mistake of taking my point and shoot rather than the D300 so in addition to dodging iPhones and children, I could seldom see what I was shooting in the view screen because of the glare. I also went with a friend, which meant i couldn't get pre parade photos. Sigh. But here are a few for your amusement.
Skelator Dog. I particularly liked the tongue.
Taco Dog. There were a couple of those.
Labradooles abounded and greeted each other like they were long lost relatives, which they probably were.
Steve and his Poulis. Barney and Chantilly Lace visit the hospital every Tuesday. After they bring comfort and entertainment to the residents of floor three, they stop by the volunteer office for a treat.
There were a couple of Horses, but no tarantulas, hamsters, fish or frogs this year.
There was, however, a chicken in her car.
And a go go goat with friends.
There was entertainment for the kids.
And food, beer and wine for the adults. Lots of crafts, too. Next year I will take the better camera.

(130,865 posts)Kind of 'glad' I'm not the only one with seeing/not seeing through glare problems with my Samsung Galaxy camera, which is one reason I'm thinking of getting a DSLR (after cataract surgery.)
