(17,005 posts)Love the colors specially the lake and then the clouds with the breathtaking mountains, just wonderful!

(130,860 posts)I loved it the moment I saw it, on a business trip to Seattle, I think, in a little shop, rolled it up and transported it back to DC where I had it framed. Obviously scenic stuff is MINE!!!
Was difficult to get a perfect, shot due to the light + reflections. Looking forward to moving it to the cottage; its now in my northern MD apartment, from which I'll move it (and everything) when I get my act together! Thinking of putting it in my bedroom.

(17,005 posts)and it looks like the same location where both photos were taken.

(130,860 posts)Haven't been able to determine where mine's from. MAYBE PacificNorthWest.

(7,343 posts)Unless it's an area I'm not familiar with. Reminiscent of the Columbia Gorge but the mountains are too rugged and snow covered. Possibly northern Washington or B.C., Alaska?
It looks almost identical to today's Picture of the Day from Chile. Pacific Southwest, then?
Anyways beautiful picture!

(130,860 posts)which is why I posted it. (Also, I happened to be going to my apartment in northern MD today., where it's hanging)
Surely could be northern Washington or B.C. (COULD be ANYTHING, T Kitten!)

(7,343 posts)Hmm...now that I look closer, you're right! I think that's Harper's Ferry!
Anyways, Do you need a Maryland State Flag to hang on your apt. wall?
and like your new tripod for free?
I was shopping at the Goodwill As-Is Store Have you heard of them? Huge warehouse sized stores with all these tables filled with (mostly) junk but you do find some goodies sometimes. Plus they sell it all by the pound.
Anyways a couple months ago I found this big weird flag. Looks like a racing flag or a Spanish colonial flag. Looked it up and it's the Maryland State Flag! It's about 6 feet by 4 feet. I think it cost less than a dollar. I'm willing to eat the loss if I can find a good home for it.

(130,860 posts)and water and stuff, T Kitten!
No thanks, for the flag. I have a few paintings and other art objects to hang, and flags don't quite fit!
Haven't seen Goodwill As-Is Store, but have shopped a plain old Goodwill occasionally.
Great to have a free tripod to play with, eh???

(7,343 posts)Since you mentioned MD, and live there...I, personally, need more walls to hang all my paintings and stuff...last thing I'd want to hang is some flag!
I went to a camera store and bought a new lens for my new camera today...I was looking at tripods too. I'd like a really lightweight one that's easy to carry as I trudge through the woods and deserts and mountains pretending I'm on assignment from National Geographic!
elleng
(130,860 posts)I DON'T trudge through the woods, just step out of my door, and voila! Will play with where I want the tripod, and then work on time-lapse (maybe.) Lots of work to do!
