Several of you encouraged me to do this, so...
It is with great pleasure that I announce the publication of Dreams of Falling Waters, my first photo book.
An exploration and celebration of Pacific Northwest waterfalls, Dreams of Falling Waters contains a portfolio of thirty-four stunning images of some of the most beautiful and memorable falls in a region that can make a strong case for the title of "waterfall capital of the world." Painstakingly printed on premium lustre paper, Dreams of Falling Waters is a testimonial to one of the most glorious aspects of nature here in the Northwest.
Dreams of Falling Waters is available in deluxe hardcover and softcover editions, as well as a downloadable PDF version suitable for viewing on computers or mobile devices. It can be ordered here.

(20,886 posts)Are you pleased with the Blurb quality?

(26,044 posts)Nice paper quality. Sharpness is good, with no haloing. Color balance is spot-on. The deepest greens are a bit oversaturated, but that's the only complaint I have. Let's just say that the print quality is a lot better than Art Wolfe gets from Sasquatch Press, IMHO.

(20,886 posts)I had a project I was thinking about, but it got expensive. I'm rethinking and paring down photos.
One further question. Did you use their software, ordidyou submit a PDF?

(26,044 posts)I used the Blurb plug-in to Lightroom and created and uploaded it from there. It worked very easily. OTOH, the one issue it does have, as opposed to using their standalone app, is that you have to give each version of your book a separate listing, which is why you'll see separate entries at that link for hardcover and softcover/pdf versions. If I had used the standalone software, I could have arranged it so there was only one book listed, with the option to purchase it in either hardcover or softcover. It's a minor matter for me, and being able to create the book in LR (which is my primary piece of "digital darkroom" software) was a trade-off I was more than willing to make.

(20,886 posts)Although they may have updated it by now.
I keep my photos on a separate drive. The software wouldn't recognize the drive. It only recognized the "my pictures" folder on my main drive where iPhoto, which I don't use, stores photos. It was laborious to go find the drive and then the photos each time I wanted to place a photo.
