2. I no longer carry my camera to protests/rallies...

I shoot on a 50D which is a larger body camera and as such I found out during the Occupy protests that it made some folks nervous.

There was a period of time where it was unknown to me at the time, that there was a whisper campaign that I may have been working undercover for local law enforcement.

A bullsh*t accusation, however it made me uncomfortable knowing that I wasn't welcome.

Unfortunate, however if leaving my gear at home makes folks more comfortable, small price to pay...

Fortunately, advances in technology allows for phones to take decent photographs should that opportunity for a decent shot arise.

4. I guess people here just aren't quite that paranoid.

I saw quite a few "real" cameras today in addition to my own. There are a lot of photographers in Alaska.
