work today... Camden, NJ

I have been working in Camden, NJ the past 2 days... yesterday (mid morning) I was in 7 different neighborhoods of which 4 had multiple police cars and officers cruising and "interacting" with residents... as I drove into one neighborhood the first thing I saw was an officer personally going through the pockets of a young man that he had cuffed... there were another 4-5 police cars driving through the streets with lights flashing...

...today I worked in the neighborhood where I took the photo that is below... watching the 2 young men walking in the street ahead of us, I couldn't help but think of Michael Brown and his friend...

I often wish that those people attempting to justify police behavior and criticizing people of color and people in poverty would just work with me for a few weeks and see what I see and hear what I hear........................... too many have no idea how the other lives or what they have to encounter in their everyday

In the '80's, street lights went missing because they were stolen to sell the poles for the value of the aluminum.
