I was taking pics of contrails one day and one of them had a strange sphere in it that I did not see with my eyes. Since the sun was to the right there are rays visible of the sun in the pic. Now we did have a full moon that day, however, since this was in the middle of the afternoon, the moon had not risen yet until way after dark. If I can figure out a way to upload the photos, I was hoping if some of you expert photographers can figure out what it is. Could it possibly be that the sun picked up the moon and made a strange cosmic hologram type of thing? I know you will be able to tell if it's photoshopped and it's not, but I want a better explanation than that it's a UFO.
Also, is there anyway to get pictures up other than photobucket. I once had an account there and now can't find it because they changed how the website operates and it has me in a state of frustration? Also, am frustratingly not tech savvy as well as not a photographer.
Thank you for allowing me to drop in on your group, although I know it's not the purpose, I hope you can help or steer me somewhere else.
On edit: See post 6 for the images.

(149,593 posts)I'm not at all sure what's showing on your picture, and so I can't help you there.
There are other photo hosting sites besides Photobucket but I don't know them. I use Photobucket and find it quite satisfactory. If I were you, I'd just sign up as a new member/user and then it would probably not be as frustrating.
Then you'll be able to post your picture here and hopefully get some answers!

I don't have an iphone so I have no idea how to do it with that but on my android I plug the phone into the PC and it acts like a disk drive.

(18,219 posts)No worries, you are not posting anything that isn't part of the reason we are here. And you don't have to be a photographer. In fact, if I remember correctly, at least one in a recent contest admitted to using a photo from an iphone. So see, you took a photograph, so you are a photographer too.
I use flickr to post photos, but it works so well for me since I have a yahoo email account, and they are linked with the same password.

This I took at 11:12:57 am on March 4, 2015

upload an image
I took this three seconds later at 11:13:00 am on the same date

I did not see the sphere with my naked eye. It's only when I went inside to look at the pics that I saw it.
Any ideas guys?

(45,851 posts)Internal reflections in the camera lens aren't usually so sharp and clear but that's my guess. There is enough difference in the orientation of the two shots that you wouldn't necessarily get the same reflection in the second image.
Makes sense. Thanks for the explanation.

(18,219 posts)but that is really cool. Reflections from the sun can do some strange things, like rainbows. Cameras pick things up differently than our eyes do, partly because of the time of exposure. Hang around here and you will see photos taken in the middle of the night that appear to have a lot of lighting which isn't there, but it is because of the exposure time. I have to assume your camera got much more light exposure than you saw when you were looking, or you would not have been able to look at the brightness of that light.

(75,480 posts)I figured it had to do with something in the atmospheric conditions, reflections and such things.
