(5,113 posts)we were in a really bad drought. not quite california levels but still severe
even with the rain the lakes are still low. they are the most they have been filled in 3 years but still well below normal.
lake travis, our main reservoir is only 42% full even after all the rain

(1,571 posts)Austin is such beautiful place. Love the bats. Love Guadalupe street and love that xxx chili parlor. I hope the rain continues in full measure of your need.

(5,113 posts)we got 2 " at our house but some areas got clocked.
one of the austin area towns (san marcos) is partially under water. the blanco river rose 30 feet in an hour. I have some friends that were camping at blanco river state park that had to evacuate. there are 150 people hunkered down in the park managers house which is on high ground out of danger.
the interstate between austin and san antonio is shut down because the river is over the highway at historic levels.
weve had a few tornados reported around.
lake travis our big lake has risen 7 feet in the last 24 hours.
rain has ended here for now but they are predicting another round of heavy rain tomorrow
