Supermoon SaturdayThe blog post chronicles my novice attempts to try to get a shot of the supermoon from a rocking boat, on a night with heavy haze, and inadequate equipment. Here are a couple of the photos, the first being a practice shot from the prior night (remember I like backlit!). And I don't cover up my failures, although the experience was a lot of fun.

Celebration
(15,812 posts)A lot of them (but not all) have the negative space thing going on.
Solly Mack
(90,740 posts)I like the light in the second and the shadow in the first.
Celebration
(15,812 posts)Had to do a bit of editing in the first to make it more of a silhouette. Photo editing is fun--I didn't do anything out of the ordinary but the photo had an entirely different feel after I was through. And, I would know that look anywhere.
Blues Heron
(5,899 posts)Excellent atmosphere, sky, water and trees. Beautiful.
Celebration
(15,812 posts)Without the right lenses, etc., I could not compete on detail of the moon for sure. And there were no landmarks to compare the size of the moon, so this isn't that kind of photo either. I totally had to try to capture the feeling. I have to say that this photo is exactly the feel of being out on the boat during the Supermoon event.
A lot of my photos came out like this-- reminded me of those old "double exposures" of my youth!
It really was pretty funny. We never get out in the boat after dark so this was a bit adventurous for us.
