(90,740 posts)I wanted something colorful. The summers here can be so vibrant.
You know, hot days with deep azure skies, the sun sparkling overhead, and the flowers...all the colors... more vibrant....more vivid.
Which is exactly what the day was like.
I got up close with a P&S (Panasonic Lumix DMC ZS7) on macro. As close as possible without actually touching the bee. He was so busy I don't think he much cared what I was doing.
I think all the entries are wonderful. I love the seasonal contests.

(90,740 posts)Very cool. Screams Summer.
mnhtnbb
(31,319 posts)needed to hurry back to get ready to leave the rental house. I wish I had
taken the time to go around, lie down on the sand, and shoot it with the ocean in the background. If only...
Mira
(22,378 posts)I have not yet gone to see your entry - but must make this comment first
Mira
(22,378 posts)which is mystical, magical, and I can barely imagine you captured that shot, I will let go of my fascination with the sand castle.
Cudos!!!! on all fronts

(31,319 posts)We have a lot of deer in our neighborhood. I walk Snowy every morning (and noon and evening) but it's unusual for
us to walk in the morning and not see deer somewhere on our walk. This shot, though, was from a noon walk.
Several deer were resting in the woods on the hill across the street from our driveway and I took Snowy in the house and grabbed
my camera to see if I could get a good shot. Amazingly, they were still there when I got back outside. I have a lot of deer
photos taken in various places on our lot and around the neighborhood, but I really like the light/shadows in this one and the fact they were looking right at me.
Mira
(22,378 posts)utterly awesome.
And yes, part of it is the light ad the shadows, part of it is that it is so unexpected looking.
Solly Mack
(90,740 posts)I didn't see the second deer in mnhtnbb's photo until today.
The photo title should have been a clue, but obviously I'm clueless.
Total dunce.
I won't even confess the part that truly makes me a nincompoop.
Trust me on this, I'm a dunderhead.
I'm done now.
mnhtnbb
(31,319 posts)You are so funny. Not a dunderhead at all! Or even a nincompoop.
Solly Mack
(90,740 posts)Mayhap a funny one, but still one.
My husband asked me why I was staring at my computer screen and turning red. I was that embarrassed for me.
I had to purge.
I feel better now.
mnhtnbb
(31,319 posts)and I was laughing out loud. Literally. He wanted to know what was so funny.
I'm still laughing this morning at this one!
hehe.

(31,319 posts)I LOVE the expression on that pup's face!
Mira
(22,378 posts)We surely need more entries!
a la izquierda
(11,784 posts)I suppose I'll enter, though I feel weird doing so. Other hosts, is this the norm, that a host enters?
Mira
(22,378 posts)but only in a seasonal contest!
I'm glad you are back, and I look forward to the contest.
a la izquierda
(11,784 posts)I'll be stateside tomorrow afternoon .
Mira
(22,378 posts)Espero que tenga un viaje a su casa tranquilo

(74 posts)Normally it would be fine if you entered but you missed the host's submission deadline. Too bad, try again next time.
Mira
(22,378 posts)a la izquierda is the big enchilada. It is her contest, and she is the hostess, and she said she was traveling and things would be a bit fluid.
I hope very much she enters, as she is permitted to do in a seasonal contest, so we can have two threads of 9 each.
By the way - I am thrilled at your photo because it makes me laugh - puppy photographs have a big leg up on the others as a rule, and yours is spectacular with the expression on the dog's face, and the title.
Liked your other photo, but I'm really glad you changed them out.
OhWiseOne
(74 posts)The other photo was only up for like 30 seconds. You must be very diligent.

the votes? Wanting to claim residuals?

(31,319 posts)So many people think they're so cute--and, really, I guess they are--but they'll eat flowers right out of the
pots on the front deck!

Oh well.
