Oddities, Art & Darrel (the Dogigator)

Darrel is the mascot of the mystery house. You can purchase t-shirts, buttons, and magnets featuring his glorious awesomeness!

The "Bassigator"

The courtyard w/ Bassigator

His tail end is that of a Bass. The way is blocked for photo taking.

The walkway is made from old roofing material that was laid out and glued together.

The building in the center is the "Hot Sauce House" (I got shots of the inside...through the window. Locked building to keep the hot sauce safe)

Where the alien greeter crashed.

Thelma, the 32 foot alligator.

If you count, you'll see that Thelma does indeed have 32 feet.

The disturbing

Bottlecap art (and it's everywhere - to include the bathroom shown) One bathroom is covered in shards of colorful

pottery. Very clean restrooms! (always a plus)

The ceiling

Art with Keys

Out of time

Cyberman and Analog Man

They waste nothing. Everything that can be recycled into art, is. All the animation ("interactive&quot displays were

handmade. I'll post a few of those later.

For NV Whino

The museum gives out FREE anti-fracking bumperstickers.

Abita Springs used to draw thousands of people for its water. The source is still going strong and the town

protects it.

I hope you aren't bored! I'm going to show more.

Was there a fortune teller there? Did you have your fortune told? mnhtnbb Sep 2015 #7
No. It was more a tribute to fortune telling. Solly Mack Sep 2015 #8

I don't find it the least little bit boring, either!

The stuff is so imaginative that I can hardly believe it.

GREAT pictures!

More, please.

It really is a great museum.

There's a fortune teller's room. I have photos. You can sign your name on the walls.

It's ever evolving, they keep adding more displays.

I once had my palm read at a place in Studio City (San Fernando Valley). It turned out to be
quite eerily predictive of how many children I would have--(how do you have half a child?!? I thought at the time)--
when our daughter was stillborn at 22 1/2 weeks. Freaked me out when I remembered it.
Turns out my life line has a major interruption--around age 65--according to the palmist
and I am getting more than a little nervous since I turn 65 at my next birthday.

You could win the lottery on your 65th and change the course of the rest of your life.

I've been saving old circuit boards. I wonder if my landlady would mind?

I love this place.

If you ever go, don't miss a single crack, crevice or corner - something will be there.
