I think part of that is because I probably over-processed them, especially the second one. Adsos Letter Mar 2016 #6

I wouldn't have thought black and white would work for scenes like that, but these are wonderful. I think keeping it simple with basically three elements for the first, and distinct separation of the elements in the second is what makes them work.

I accidentally cropped from the bottom on the first one when I was looking at it. Removing the thing on the right side that way gives a cleaner shot, and yet you don't lose too much of the hillside.

I liked the way the hill rises in the first image, and the distribution of the trees helped. I probably could have done with less sharpening on the second one. I tried cropping that fence corner out, but I liked the way the trees fall in the image more than having the fence disappear, so I left it.

But I think the smoothness of the far background saves it. The contrast of the sharp detail against the smooth background works.

Something about the textures in these makes them so pleasing.

You have done beautiful work.

Thanks for sharing!

I prefer the first image. I think I over sharpened the second image. I almost didn't post it, but I did like the way the hills fall off toward Mt. Tam.

I think there is too much Clarity applied to the second image, which gives it the appearance of being sharper than it should be. I always seem to get the most positive feedback on those images with the least processing.
