1. Congratulations to all but a very special recognition

of mnhtnbb's efforts as of late!!!!!!!!

She has run two contests beautifully, neck to neck, stepping in where help was needed. She has done this even in spite of a travel schedule. If our photo group wants to continue to operate smoothly and congenially we all must participate to make it so.

Part of that is the necessity of finding a solution to our having winners who cannot post polls and therefore cannot run the next contest.
Are there any suggestions on how we can find alternative ways to do this?

It's been fun. I enjoy watching the photos come in and seeing the response from DU.

We did have 11 out of 29 entries from photographers in the Spring contest who cannot post polls under the current DU requirements.

I wonder whether it might be time to uncouple hosting from winning and create an annual calendar of volunteer hosts
for each monthly and seasonal contest. Sign up for a time that works with your schedule rather than discover
that, yikes!, my photo won and I have to run a contest next month!

I certainly have no objection to hosting a contest once a year. It would actually be preferable, at least for me.

The contests are one of the best parts of DU and I love the Photography Group.

I'm already a volunteer substitute host, so see no problem transferring to a calendar of host. No one can predict life, so anyone that does sign up for a month/season will need to let people know if they are unable to fulfill their obligation.
