I've been looking for 'peak' too, but not sure I've found any. Traveling this weekend, but driving myself, so we shall see.

A Cemetery is the perfect place for color. A place normally drab and gray.

It looks as if the moldy moss on the Bowman stone is pesto made from the leaves around it.
I'm taking off for a couple of days in the NC mountains, probably too late for color. But last weekend, no matter how remote the hamlet, and how unfindable on a map, not a single motel room was available.
The leaves in Appalachia are a serious draw for tourists.
Great color in your first photo. The muted general colors show it off as being real and saturated.
