And what a nice variety of subjects, too.
Hildegard sure looks alert and ready for anything!

I included some utility lines for you in the b&w shot.

(90,762 posts)There is the best sub-station not far from my house that I am not allowed to photograph. It sits right next to train tracks that are situated at the forest edge, the miles measured and marked by creosote poles running the length of the tracks. The parallel scoop of twin lines cresting like waves as they connect pole to pole. The train passing through time, as electricity passes through the wire, as life scurries through the woods. As I drive down the road.
At night, the lights surrounding the station showcase an eerie beauty of steel and nature. Passages of time and space, of longing and uncertainty, of our own travels through life.
I wish you could see what I see when I look upon what some would call an eyesore, but I see as but a window to the vastness the night brings. The infinite possibilities.
Egads! Someone stop me now.

(19,459 posts)This, I think, is the biggest challenge with photography. What I "see" usually involves feeling/emotion, and I rarely succeed in capturing it.

(90,762 posts)It's a really nice spot too. Goes off into the woods, around a bend, and the tracks and the lines go on for a few miles.

I have walked through the woods to get photos of some of the tracks and they're pretty decent about request for photographing certain things. There's a new school and I want to get some shots of the old one, and I have a request in to do that. I probably won't hear back until after the first of the year though.
I wanted to photograph troops during jump training but I got a no on that. I did sit out there and watch though.

Glad you enjoyed them.
