(with a nod to Matthew McConaughey)

I can't believe Dixiegrrrrl posted this, but I feel soothed and cared about.
I am AOK tonight!
Thanks to you who posted, and the scoop is simple, and though I dreaded it the outcome, it seems to be way better than I expected.

About six weeks ago I broke my right wrist, and have been languishing because I'm right handed, and pain is pain. Then, when the cast came off a week ago the carpal tunnel that was dormant, to be watched and operated on when needed, burst into "flame". I had no feeling in the hand and was diagnosed as having it "severely" and needed immediate surgery to prevent a numb hand and permanent nerve damage.

So, today those wonderful caring folks, all paid by medicare, handled it.
I guess I was a little extra nervous having a secondary operation on an already broken wrist.

Lola will be fine. She has keen sensitivity about me by now, she had been a whiny little bitch (with a nod to Bill Maher's assessment of 45) when I crashed off a chair and broke my wrist and when i - literally - holding it and wailing out loud for well over half an hour while pondering my next step she never made a sound during that whining time
She knew I was in trouble.

I will have some friends and family walk her for the next few days. And I will chill out a bit and stay out of trouble.

Thank you! Love you!

I am so sorry to hear about the broken wrist and then to have carpal tunnel syndrome on top of that. That is just too much and not fair at all I hope your bones are knitting together faster than your arm did. I am glad you are doing better after surgery. Carpal tunnel can be a bear to deal with so hope the surgery brings you to being better than ever. Hope healing goes fast and is complete. Lola should be fine with friends walking her as long as she can cuddle with you. Get the friend & family to wait on you both for a bit, sounds like you deserve some spoiling. Also avoid the news, 45 isn't going to do anything good so just check out for a bit. Netflix can be a sanity saver these days.

Glad you have some help with Lola for the next few days!

When Snowy and I came back from our 5 PM walk tonight, the deer were all over our yard. I almost joined you with broken bones
as Snowy came damn close to pulling me hard enough to fall on the downslope of our driveway. She usually just stands and looks at them,
but I guess having so many of them in the yard was too much for her. (I posted some photos of them on fb).

Feel better!

I am so relieved I can't express enough gratitude all the way around. Now the break and the surgery can heal another month and then I'm off to Johannesburg, Cape Town, and a 4 day Safari. Can you believe it?
I'm meeting my youngest brother who is on a business trip. So I can hitch on with his hotel rooms etc. and the expense is possible. Have I mentioned this already. If yes, forgive.I'm excited knowing i"ll be OK to take the trip.

So glad you did not get knocked over. Wish I could watch you FEED the deer.

I wondered if your safari was still on. So exciting!

Some of them are letting me get very close to take photos. I'm beginning to wonder if I stood still with a handful of camellia blooms if they'd come eat out of my hand. But then, how would I take that photo?
