both tips were pointed up

noticed on my drive home, thought ' holding water' and rain is due this weekend

which may finally melt away the ton of snow everywhere...

I don't think I've ever seen the moon with both tips up. Not ever here on the west coast, for sure.

Of course, it gets its light from the sun, so it points towards that body. Weird.

it was tilted more than your pic... plus my perspective thru a windshield driving home in the dark in chapel HILL and noticing it was cup like in the sky ... wished I'd taken a pic, bc it was stunning in the clear nite sky

A photo would have been lovely........but you're not always in the best place for that.
