Red Pumps

Last edited Sat Dec 22, 2018, 02:24 AM - Edit history (1)

I took this photo in Rome. Lots of very nicely dressed women driving Vespa motor scooters, but these red pumps really caught my eye. My attempt to alter the identifying license plate in Lightroom wasn't so great, but it looked better than just whiting out the whole plate.

I asked my wife the correct name for those shoes, and I was informed that red pumps was correct. I just call 'em high heels.

These are pumps. Pumps are closed at the sides.

So you're right. "High heels" pretty much covers it.

I never see them on the street. Someone is buying them. Maybe they aren't for walking.

I'm glad that you were able to capture it. Made me smile!

In my younger days, I wore high heels, but not as high as the shoes in your photo!

I was standing at the very front of the bus, and it stopped at a light just long enough for me to snap this shot.

My first trip to Rome I came home with red heels. Kitten ones, at my age and stage of life. Still, red heels!

I'm pretty much an old Levi's kind of guy at home, but I feel like I might have been a bit under dressed had I worn them in Europe. I wore slacks the whole time, and felt like I fit in pretty well.

What are Kitten high heels?

Women and men.

Kitten heels are a defined small heel--not just a big stack heel--even though they are probably no more than 2 inches.

Here's an example of a red Donald Pliner kitten heel pump available from Nordstrom Rack

Damn. These are actually so cute I might have to think about ordering them as a Christmas present to myself!
