Yeah, the damage doesn't really show from this angle........but it was there.

I was glad to see the cathedral and saddened by the destruction.

We had a wonderful trip to Paris in the mid 1990s, she was a fine arts major who instilled love of art, history, culture, nature in us. So my sister and I toured Paris with her, the Louvre, d'Orsay, the left bank, Closerie des Lilas café, then Bordeaux for a wedding.

We walked past many such outdoor cafes. All of them charming!

And I don't think there's any way they can. The stones are soaked with water and they have to dry out before any real work is done.

There are many architectural and structural questions to be answered too.

I just hope they will greatly reduce the risk of any future fires.

It is the heart of Paris, physically and metaphorically.

So much upheaval ongoing. This tragic fire is symbolic of the tentative nature of almost everything.

We were there a few weeks ago, the day after Notre Dame caught on fire. You couldn't get near the building, the entire island was blocked off. We were planning to tour the next day! C'est la vie!

I'm almost finished going through my photos (Zurich to Paris), so I hope to start posting soon.

It's nice to hear from you during your vacation. That way we can experience it too!

Fire trucks still at the site.

People crowded the street. Very emotional.

I cannot even imagine.

My niece and I came home Saturday. We could only stay a week and even that short period nearly killed me! I had been preparing physically but even so, I am way out of shape.

Let's just say I slept very well!

Thank you for your wonderful photos!
