and net capabilities I said the industry needs to develop? It's here!
Yi M1 micro 4/3 compatible with 12-40 kit lens for $150. (24-80 equiv)
Check it out on Amazon by searching Yi M1. Would post a link but posting from a tablet and links are awkward.
20 mpxl Sony sensor, so it has good bones. Accepts all 4/3 lenses.
What a way to break out of camera phones into the versitility of interchangeable lenses. Hell, I might buy one just to see it and use as a disposable.

Picture quality is OK, but not the best. Video is marginal. Because of the small size of the sensor, it's not so easy to design and manufacture for quality images.
Most Cameras have Bluetooth and wifi buit in now.
Here's a selection for more money, but not so much more, by established camera manufacturers:

(14,559 posts)As a once upon a time industry insider I'm facinated with the direction of the industry, it's marketing and it's audience.
Yeah there are nice entry level products out there but how many can grow into an honest to gosh system? A system that begs growth through using, growing and outgrowing the hardware that moved the image maker to the next level? For $150?
The emerging photographer isn't concerned with dynamic range, bokeh, hdr and ibis. They just want to make a better picture tomorrow than they did today. All that other stuff comes later as they move to the next level. So when I see a product that mimics the simplicity of cell phone touch screen user interface and becomes web compliant with a single app and a single touch I get excited.
As for sensor size the 4/3 is giant compared to phones. Besides, I print to 30x40 inches from a 16 mpxl Omd Em5. Every sensor size has its place, including tiny cell phones and 4x5 inch digital backs.
The sensor size argument reminds me of the KC 150 refueling tanker who, from his lumbering huge and heavy flying gas station, advised the fighter pilots to give clearance to make room for something he could do with his aircraft that they couldn't. The fighters backed off and after following for several minutes the tanker pilot asked if the fighter pilots saw it. Well, no. You just kept flying straight and level. What's the big deal? Tanker pilot replied ,"I just got out of my seat, went to the head, got cup of coffee and chatted with my navigator. Can you do that and do ya want enough fuel to get home?". 😁
