Thought maybe you were talking corn and beans, or wheat and alfalfa.

But other than that, I like the first crop—more context.

I think I like the second one a little better, but to be perfectly honest I'm not sure. I like them both. But the second one is less cluttered and doesn't have the ceiling beams, which may be a distraction. I'm not sure. Sometimes it's hard to choose.

Now if it had been two crops, I'd have gone with oats, hands down. But this choice is tougher.

read the title of your post.

But . . . if you are wondering, I too like the second photo best.

they go well together...

at first blush I said the second one is better... but then after a good look, I would definitely choose the first to hang on my wall... the beams give it good balance and make it more interesting... (looks like the old schoolhouse I went to when I was a kid )

(and since I consider the crop my most powerful tool, I never once thought of crops in the fields)
It is a powerful photo. It takes me back to much in my childhood.
I hope you don't mind my cropping it.

And I don't mind you cropping at all; it makes for a stronger photo.

This was taken at Sully Plantation, which is actually on Dulles Airport property.
