They were short haired black and white.

They lived to be 15 years old.

They are indeed cute and cuddly.

My Doberman adored her... truly an odd couple, but they got along great.

The Bunny in the photo is wild and was lounging in the shade about 10' from the house [I'm way out in the country]. IIRC it was about 85F outside.

Sometimes they dig a hole and lay in it to cool their belly off. They must be heat intolerant - I remember seeing Bunnies at the County Fair snuggling up to 2 liter bottles of water that had been frozen.

I am encircled by woods and vast fields.

Very rural.

I see many wild rabbits.

A rabbit nest was disturbed and the mother did not come back.

I kit (newborn rabbit) was dead.

I rescued 5 kits (newborn rabbits) from the nest.

4 survived and were released.

I fed them with a syringe every 2 hours.

They were so tiny.

I didn't think any of them would survive.

They are so much fun to watch, especially when the babies are small. Thanks for sharing this, Talitha.
