(11,562 posts)I'm not sure how many beer it took to chase 25 shots, but that's how many beer I drank. I didn't drink tequila for YEARS after that debacle. But, it caused me to coin a maxim.
"You cannot claim that you party hardcore until you've had half-digested tequila coming out of your nose."
It was not pretty.

(11,562 posts)Far too wasted to be conscious, but unable to sleep more than 3 or 4 hours. Then, a world-class hangover. By the second day, I'd have a hangover that most people would find normal. Made me quit drinking for years and years.
Works the same when I'm sick. Just when you needs some good, restorative sleep the most, is when I'll sleep the least.

(7,402 posts)The Riders Of The Purple Sage had their own theatre in Branson, MO and we took our mother there to celebrate her 90th birthday. It was all the original group except the son of one had stepped in for his father who had passed. They likely even sang Ghost Riders In The Sky. That's 18 1/2 years ago so I expect they sold their theatre to someone else. They had a traveling Vietnam Memorial wall I visited and looked up the two soldiers I went to school with though they were both behind me by 4 years in tiny Anita, IA. It is a trip I still remember well.

(6,846 posts)was made into an opera a few years ago and staged by Opera Arizona. I would have been happy just to have found a way to hear it, let alone see it, but no. I had better luck with the American Opera Series on radio in 2020 and "Bless Me Ultima." Many photos were provided, so, although radio can't be seen, one could get an idea. Wow, you You should have seen the owl. Wow.
Thanks to you, though, I may be able to see some of it now.
I held on to this link for three and a half years ... and now there's content behind it.

(11,562 posts)I was never much for country music, but I liked some of theirs, and The Byrds/Jim McGuinn. In later years, I actually really liked Norton Buffalo, but then, I have a real respect for musical virtuosity, no matter what genre.
