What do you use for IR photography? I read an article with instructions for removing the filter covering the sensor, of a purposely purchased, relatively cheap camera to be dedicated to the purpose.
Are there other options? TIA!

(14,559 posts)I can also use an UV filter to shoot that spectrum or a visible light filter for regular images.

(8,880 posts)one of my security cameras includes part of the sky and when it switches to IR in the evening the sky is absolutely stunning.

(10,136 posts)For modern-ish cameras, the IR filter needs to be removed from the filter stack above the sensor.
There are (used to be?) a few companies that would do this for you.
Never seen anyone attempt it themselves.
The next step is to then check out your editing software to see how well (if at all) it handles the IR pictures.
