1. And I'm in!

I invented this photo, since I didn't have anything suitable otherwise. I thought I would post it early, either to inspire others who might be in the same place I was, or to evoke laughter from the rest!

2. I'll be honest. This is a hard one.

Which is all the more reason for the regulars and often lurkers to reach for it.

Hell, there were times in my life I could post a selfie except for the 'no people, no animals' cavoite.

5. I had to close my eyes and choose one.

Two other contenders--one I took just yesterday out for an early morning drive with my son in his convertible--and the other was one I originally took for the Spring contest!

Yours is very good--shells aren't animal, but their former houses. That works for me!

I was throwing out my very old, ragged oven mitts and thought that somehow I could make them look abandoned. I think I succeeded, I think!

The other two I have are buildings, which I suspect will be the subject of a lot of entries.

I've been known to "create" entries, too!

10. There is one image that blew me away.

I won't say which one it is, but it blew me away the moment I saw it.

Sometimes our images transcend art, and take on a larger significance.

And it was literally abandoned - a couple of 10o years ago - the family built a new mansion in Norfolk and literally up sticks and left the old manor house to rot in Oxfordshire. If I had been around then I would have moved in and claimed adverse possession!

My entry was taken about 1977 or so, Kodachrome. I chose to leave it as scanned so the "frame" around it is actually the overscan of the slide. I have a few others, cars ostensibly left on the island by the Carnegie family at Dungeness mansion.
