(23,059 posts)I love roses, but they do not like the FL heat, bugs, mold and humidity that much. Mom grew them here, but it was a lot of work and they didn't do well in our shady tree filled lot. We do have some sun in our yard now since we had to remove 2 of the biggest trees from the back so maybe I will try again and only get Floribunda roses which are better adapted to the heat and humidity?

(5,420 posts)I looked up Floribunda: "The Floribunda Rose is a crossbred flower that is loved for its hardiness in harsh climates, minimal upkeep, and its ability to have continual blooms. They are recognized for their familiar traits of stocky and rigid shrubbery with an abundance of color, fragrance and beauty."
Just might work where you are!

(3,268 posts)A Red, Red Rose
BY ROBERT BURNS
O my Luve is like a red, red rose
Thats newly sprung in June;
O my Luve is like the melody
Thats sweetly played in tune.
So fair art thou, my bonnie lass,
So deep in luve am I;
And I will luve thee still, my dear,
Till a the seas gang dry.
Till a the seas gang dry, my dear,
And the rocks melt wi the sun;
I will love thee still, my dear,
While the sands o life shall run.
And fare thee weel, my only luve!
And fare thee weel awhile!
And I will come again, my luve,
Though it were ten thousand mile.
