But so are those fern-like leaves! Are they evergreens?

9. Those are the leaves of the Jacaranda, and I don't think they're evergreen.

Not officially, anyway. This is a close-up view, and you can see why I love my tree!

10. Beautiful! My jacaranda turned old enough to bloom two years ago, but

this year's freak freeze here in Corpus Christi has knocked it back to sprouts from the mostly dead trunk. Ah well, what's another 5 years or so!
