They are amazing, the the exhibits are exquisite.

from the tar pits. I didn’t like that place because I hated to think about how those poor animals died. Nice that their bones were preserved so we could learn about them, but ….

And your friend is quite right! I'd forgotten that Brea means tar pits. I do try to not use the word THE before the proper name!
