In Chelan WA and just north.
There are many different varieties, and the beauty of Washington's apples is spectacular.
By the way, if you haven't tried the "honey crisp" give it a try. A little more expensive, but worth it.

on a drive through the Blue Ridge. Took a day off from Ft Lee, VA where I was stationed and bought one from a road side stand.

I didn't eat apples for 50+ years, because they were mealy, soft, or had marginal flavors.
found the honey crisps, haven't looked back.
Give them a try, what do you have to lose.
