Stepping aside...who will step up?

I've been spending less time on DU for the last several months and contemplating some projects which will probably take more of my time, anyway. So, having gone the first mile--or two--with organizing our changeover from contest winners hosting the next contest to a calendar of volunteer hosts to run the contests, I'm ready to step aside and participate more from the sidelines, although I will for now check in after each contest to update the thread of themes/contest winners. https://www.democraticunderground.com/103669842

If the group wants to continue with volunteer hosting, it might be a good idea to figure out how and who will manage setting up the hosts beyond 2021. It might also be a good time to refresh the post which outlines steps for hosting. There is a thread which Mira put together several years ago to help someone who won for the first time with the process for hosting for the first time. There are some comments in that thread which could be integrated into the body of a refreshed post clarifying the steps for hosting.

I hope your projects are fulfilling. I have a few I need to get going with, I seem to keep getting distracted by things like needing to moved with short notice, kind of disrupts everything. Anyway, I am thankful for your help back when I was a winner and had to run the contest with little knowledge of how to do that, I was really nervous about it and your help made all the difference. I never forgot that.

We agree that you're leaving us some mighty big shoes to fill, but with two of us, we will certainly be OK.

I think volunteer hosting is the way to go, and I will post the thread in October, using your beautiful example as template.

We will check out Mira's thread which outlines the steps for hosting and see about any possible changes or clarification.
