But, working as a staff photographer for a newspaper, I had to switch up to digital in 2000 like everybody else. I still think of what it was like taking pictures of those cameras at different events and news stories. Pockets loaded with rolls of film for sporting events. Running back into the dark room to load reels and make a deadline. A lot of it I never really miss but shooting with those Leicas, I still do miss

3. I shot an M4 and an M5 for a few years.

They were virtually silent and I could hand hold a 1/10 second. I actually shot kodachrome 64 in restaurants by candle light!

When Olympus came out with the OM1 I put the M4 baseplate to baseplate with it and it was the same size! It was the same size back to back as well except for the prism that stuck up above the M4. Loved the cameras, hated the processing.

Technology sure has come a long way.

Now it is strange that the evolution is such that everybody does that with their cell phones. It cracks me up that they still call it “filming”and “footage”
