HBO's *Leaving Neverland* is worth seeing

I was never a fan and never understood the worship of pop personality Michael Jackson. This two-part documentary pulls back the protective curtain surrounding his years of pedophilia, as two of his victims outline the years of abuse he visited on them from the age of seven into their teens. Most enlightening and disturbing is the fact that these victims came to Jackson’s defense during the numerous trials he faced, driven by fears stoked by Jackson himself, who told these children that he and they would go to prison for life if their sexual acts were ever revealed. A glaring case of celebrity and money shaping public perception and winning exoneration while good citizens who came forward to expose Jackson were vilified by lawyers, the media and the court system.

Worth seeing.
