Did anyone watch the finale of The Affair? (Original Post) mainstreetonce Nov 2019 OP
I did. After a rocky couple of seasons/episodes, I thought it was really well done hlthe2b Nov 2019 #1

I agree. Most bemoaned the loss of Ruth Wilson after last season, but Maura was the real star IMO. hlthe2b Nov 2019 #9

IMO, one of the best series endings I've seen.

I liked the actual ending scene a lot.

There were a lot of side stories I did not like ,especially about Joanie.

It was sad because we saw the full circle (beginnings, middle, and end). I remember Helen saying, “when we are gone, we are gone forever.” Also, something about, we have many opportunities to hate, but very few to love. I did not start from the beginning but only saw the last two series.

This last season got off to a bad start, I thought, but it came together mid-way through and it ended in a nice way. Although I wish they would have told something about the other children before it ended, but still very good.

I've watched every season and enjoyed the show. This season though, not so much. The whole joanie story seemed unnecessary. The hike through the canyon where there's a fire. Old Noah at the restaurant. Did not enjoy these ... seemed gimmicky and cliche. Oh and the wedding... and the gravesite with old Noah. worst season IMO.

Also the guy playing Sasha, the movie guy, I thought he was faking his accent and overacting. He is Danish. He will be playing the new Dracula on BBC.

I did hope Ben would be arrested for Alison's murder. Nice to see everybody having a good time at the wedding - The flash mob dance was fun. I missed Joshua and Ruth this season. Guess we'll never know why they left the show.

when I couldn’t find anything else. The whole season felt as if they were just trying anything to keep it going.
