I'm glad the manor was saved and Matthew agreed to take the money left to him.
I'm ready for more to develop regarding the Irish rebellion and Tom and Sybil.

(4,514 posts)Did you see the look on his face when they were standing in the hallway and she said something like (paraphrasing here), "I want it to be my life's work," after he said something about how she was gonna end up taking care of him and pushing him around in a wheelchair? He was OK until she said that, then his face just fell. She was oblivious, but I think he didn't much care for what she said, and that was what made him change his mind. I thought it was a crappy, thoughtless thing for her to say. Who wants to be someone's "project"? That was the turning point, I think.
