A 'Fargo' TV Series is Coming to FX in 2014 (Spring)

FX announced today at the network's upfront presentation that a "Fargo" limited series will indeed be coming to the network in the spring of 2014 by way of FX Productions and MGM Television. The 10-episode series will begin production this fall, with Noah Hawley ("The Unusuals&quot writing and and executive producing alongside the Coens and Warren Littlefield (also of "The Unusuals&quot .

"Fargo" is inspired by the film but will follow a new case with new characters in the same vein of Minnesotan geniality even in the face of murder.

“For years, people have tried to adapt this Academy Award®-winning gem into a TV series with no success,” said FX's John Landgraf in the announcement. “I have always loved Fargo and I was skeptical about this as a series, but Noah Hawley’s script made me a believer. This script is so good and so true to the tone of the original movie.”

I can't get my head around a "Fargo" without the pregnant Chief.

(Maybe that's why it's just 10 episodes)

but that FX is doing it gives me hope. Would have even more hope if it were AMC, but FX has done some great series in the past few years.

That was a horrid movie except for the part with the woodchipper at the end. The sad thing about that is I really like William H. Macy as he is a talented actor. Just saw a picture of him, he sure has not aged well for being 63 he looks more like 70...

Fx can afford to run 10 series pilots to see if they are successful or not, that is one great thing about them.

It has worked out well for Anger Management as they ordered 90 additional episodes all in one crack of the pen.
