AMC Sets a Date for 'The Killing,' Which Will Return With a Two-Hour Premiere

AMC's set a premiere date for the third season of "The Killing," the crime drama the network axed only to then decide to bring it back after all. The show will return on Sunday, June 2 at 8pm with a two-hour premiere, and stars Mireille Enos and Joel Kinnaman joined by new cast members Peter Sarsgaard, Elias Koteas and Amy Seimetz. Showrunner Veena Sud has also returned.

Season three will begin a year after the close of the Rosie Larsen murder that was investigated over the course of the show's first season and then, to the exasperation of some, its second season as well. Sarah Linden (Enos), who's no longer working as a detective, is contacted by her ex-partner Stephen Holder (Kinnaman) for help after his search for a runaway girl leads him to find a gruesome string of murders that connects to a previous murder investigation Linden headed up. The network has promised this season will end with the case solved.

Whoa, big score for the cast. I was one of those exasperated by the two-season arc for the Rosie Larsen murder, but Veena Sud was always doing some cool stuff on the screen. I'm signing up for season 3.

Glad to hear I was wrong.

I was annoyed with the two-season arc. But overall I thought it was a great show.

then I think AMC went in with them to start it up again. I'll see if I can find the article about that. This old memory fails me on the details.

The show was canceled by the network in July after two seasons but is coming back with the possible backing of Netflix, which has shown an interest to stream the series after or during AMC run. Those negotiations are ongoing, and the release pattern of how Netflix would stream "The Killing" remains to be seen.

I even reset the contrast/brightness on my TV.. Too much effort (on my part) too SEE the damned thing

I know they went for the "film noir" thing, but in my opinion, they went too far..

Have Linden and Holder go to New Zealand to investigate the disappearance of 12-year-old Tui!

That would be awesome.

13. SHOOT: Joel Kinnaman & Mireille Enos Film THE KILLING Near Cobalt Hotel – Updated April 25, 2013

http://yvrshoots.com/2013/04/shoot-mireille-enos-joel-kinnaman-film-the-killing-at-cobalt-hotel.html

The Killing’s dynamic detective duo Stephen Holder (Joel Kinnaman) and Sarah Linden (Mireille Enos) did a walk and talk today south along Main Street towards the Cobalt Hotel in Vancouver, so that noted foodie Holder could pick up a slice from Pizzeria Farina. I’m kidding about Holder being a gourmand but several funny Holderisms have been about food — like him calling Chinese takeout “fu manchu poo poo MSG crap” while arguing that “pickles are vegetables”.

In rehearsal, Joel Kinnaman looked more like Robocop (his upcoming feature film) than Holder in a navy t-shirt until he put on the bulky Holder hoodie and jacket, while Mireille Enos (who plays Brad Pitt’s wife in the upcoming World War Z) was unmistakably the Sarah Linden we remember, with her russet hair tied back and the Scandinavian sweater under a black coat. During breaks from filming the scene the two leads laughed and joked, but didn’t crack a single smile while in character until Mireille Enos messed up a take. [Why all the seriousness? Perhaps because  the season 3 case is about a serial killer who preys on street kids.

More pictures at link above..

This is the chemistry that made Linden and Holder a team..

Can hardly wait for June 2, 2013..Season 3 premiere
