I feels closer to The West Wing to me. Only this time Sorkin created an idealized version of cable news -- with the usual drama added for human interest.

It's an exceptional series. I'm into Season Two.

But McAvoy is a former prosecutor, so that's why he tends to be more confrontational, and he's pissed at his party (GOP) for turning into religious right nutjobs.

Chris Matthews' son plays a producer on the show, but not Don or Jim.
