I look forward to dr strangelove's threads the day after each episode, but maybe he's been too demoralized the past two weeks to post. I know I'm disappointed. What started out as a terrific season has degenerated into a collection of not very nice people. I'm trying to decide whom I dislike least. I'm even starting to reconsider Rodney, lol. I'll continue watching, because I've never not watched, but unless somebody starts redeeming him or herself pretty quick, it's going to be a dull slog to the end.
What does everybody else think?

(16,104 posts)You got to hand it to Mike, he never stops working. Blue collar through and through. Out of the rock-bottom remainders, Mike is probably most deserving as a player. He has made a couple hesitant bad plays, but saves himself in the end. He always kept his eye on the prize.
Note: I am always wrong, so I have probably sealed Mike's doom.
White collar still has some moves to make!
This season has been about missed opportunities and regret. Not very enjoyable, but a reflection of the real world? The social experiment goes on.

(16,334 posts)because I SWEAR I was thinking the same thing! I don't really like any of the remaining players.
But I did not think this past episode was dull. I do think Mike and Shirin (at least from what they showed us) did not sell the idol idea hard enough. It appeared that Sierra was thinking about getting Tyler out so I wonder why they could not have convinced her that Mike would use the idol to save Sierra.
Next week, Mike can either win immunity or play the idol and it seems to me Tyler may be the first to be cannibalized.

(22,340 posts)Dan is going to be livid. The cracks were exposed and now Dan knows he's on the bottom. I wish it would have worked to keep Shirin, but it was at least a good tribal.
That said, I don't like any of the remaining either. Sad that I have to cheer for Tyler (who has done little) or Sierra (who has done even less).

(11,238 posts)He's made a couple big missteps, so I don't think he'll go down in Survivor history as a great mastermind, but he was savvy enough to know how to drive a wedge into the alliance & it worked brilliantly. Dan got the shock of his life. I get all happy looking forward to watching the fallout next week, lol, there's going to be a lot of reshuffling & jockeying for position. I hope Mike can pull it out. He's got a bit of a hero complex (the barrel challenge) but I think overall, out of who's left, he's worked the most for the million smackeroonies.

(30,733 posts)I like Mike more than I did. I despise Rodney and Dan. Tyler is okay with me. But the best, most likable people are gone.
Why haven't those women figured out that they are being picked off by a bunch of misogynists?

(34,105 posts)I don't like Mike much. I don't think we would ever be terribly friendly but not enemies perhaps. Still, he is playing the game and playing hard. He has stumbled a lot but he would not the the first to stumble into the finals. I think Tyler is playing hard but we are not being shown his real game. Again, he may not have revealed any more than we have seen to them either. He is smart and seems cunning, I would be terrified of him if I was playing. Rodney and Dan? Pbstttttt! Both flailing around and thinking they are either running things or have a handle on things. They are both left alone to believe that and when they come down it will be a magnificent thing to watch, misogynistic creeps that they are. I don't have a handle on either of the remaining women. Don't have one clue why they have done what they have and where they are going. Nobody ever mentions Will much. Why is that? He must be doing something or is he just someone to take to the end because he really never did anything? He seems very removed from things.
I like it better when there are definite good people. I don't like when there are hateful or bad people but at least some split. This seems like one big splurge of roiling upset.
Can't not watch. Never missed a show. Wish I knew why. What is the real basic appeal here? Does not matter much does it?

(30,733 posts)He can get off some good one-liners. He sucks at challenges and he is no threat. I think that is why they keep him.
I think Dan will go before Rodney.
I can't wait to see Rodney's reaction when they vote him out. It will be epic. His anger and hurt may be worse than that of Russell Hantz.
Tyler? I still think he is a good player. It may be the edits, but I think he is playing things quietly. Other good players have done that. But the way things are going now, I don't see any clear winner.

(11,238 posts)Will looked like a creep for not wanting to apologize, after he made those below-the-belt remarks about Shirin having nobody back home who cares about her. But Shirin was widely disliked around camp for some reason. There's a lot we didn't see, and editing has been pretty ham-handed this season.
As it stands now, the despicable Dan is a goat; Rodney is a goat; Will is a goat; Sierra is probably a goat. If they have any shred of self-awareness they will vote Tyler out tout de suite.

(20,805 posts)I guess maybe Mike, because he;s always been ducking and diving, trying to stay ahead of the game. He has tried to help others out from time to time. I really, really, REALLY don't want it to be Dan who is an asshole, or Rodney who is a dumb asshole, or Will who is a spiteful asshole...
So between Mike and Tyler? I cold tolerate either as the winner I suppose, but this season just fizzled out like a damp squib..
