Survivor - Worlds Apart

Hey everyone. I am sorry I have been missing for the past few weeks. Sadly we got some bad family news and someone I love is very sick with an advanced stage of cancer. I have been in and out of the hospital and traveling, and when home trying to soak in as much time with my kids because I am only home a few nights a week right now as my friends and family sort this all out.

Anyway, I have not seen the past 2 episodes, but we watched last nights and it was great. I see they all stayed the course on turning on Mike. I think this cast is the one I like the least ever. Not a one to cheer for. I find them all annoying.

I am hoping that Will or Sierra win, since I think I don;t really dislike them, just think they are terrible players. I would rather a bad player win than a bad person. Not that Rodney, Mike or Carolyn have played a good game. They just lucked into a season where the best players were on the orange tribe, who did not seem to care about playing the strategy part of the game.

Next week is the 3 hour season finale!

Carolyn managing to keep her hidden immunity idol a secret this long and blew up the game, with Dan getting eliminated by just 2 lone votes, and leaving the last alliance in tatters. That was a nice "Survivor" moment.

Like him or not, Mike continues to outwork the rest of them. If he gets to the end, no one will deserve the money more. Any one of the remaining players may believe the only way to the final is with Mike. And could hope the jury hates Mike all the way to the end.

If any one else gets the money, it will at least be mildly interesting why they gave the money to a particular person like Will or Sierra.

Mr Fan of the Game indeed. His Ponderosa video is a riot, for his assessment of his own wonderful self:

Yeah, I'm rooting for Mike or Carolyn. To me, winning Survivor without having won even one challenge, you have to be a pretty extraordinary social or strategic player, and none of the other three are that. They're all goats, and that's how they've played it.

Just thinking how Rodney couldn't even throw his hook right in the immunity challenge…then remembering his whining at how he never gets to go on a reward...the mind reels. PLEEEZE don't let a goat win!

I would hate it if he won.

I don't think Mike or Carolyn will win. I think the others will get rid of them at the first opportunity. This group of weaklings and unlikeable people has gotten rid of the strong players as soon as possible.

I can't pick a winner from this group. I don't like any of them enough to care, or to look at them objectively.

I was so impressed with last nights turn of events. Loved it!

Sorry that your loved one is so sick. It's tough to find time for yourself when you are dealing with family illness. Good luck to you.

I hesitate to start a new thread on Survivor because I think you are going to come along and post one any minute. Sorry to hear about your family member.

I don't like any of the players at all and I really don't care who wins. I did appreciate that Carolyn had only told Tyler about the idol (which I thought was a mistake) and it was nice that she could pull a fast one last night because she stayed smart and didn't blab about the idol. SO many players screw up by telling the group they have an idol. She used hers at precisely the right time. She may be gone next week, but it won't be with an idol in her pocket.

I think Mike is doomed but it wouldn't bother me if he made it to the final.

I was THRILLED to see Dan go but he went out without nastiness and he even admitted he was trying to stand out (probably hoping for a return spot as a villain).

Wondering how Sierra will spin her vote for Carolyn TO Carolyn.

what a bunch of DUMBHEADS!!! Can you imagine being on the jury and having to pick between Will, Rodney and/or Sierra? They're total idiots and haven't done anything since day 1.

Dan's speech from the Ponderosa is pathetic. All four of them are the most dimwitted, unaware players I've ever seen.

If Sierra switches to Carolyn and Mike, maybe there will be a chance of getting rid of dumb and dumber.

Pathetic season, imo.

On edit, Dan makes Cliff Claven look like a rocket scientist.

two hour finale, I think Mike deserved that win, hands down. I loved Jeff's questioning of Dan at the reunion. When Dan tried to claim that he was the victim of bad editing, Jeff just rolled that beautiful bean footage.

Anyway, good show! Looking forward to the next season with the 2nd chance group. That will be interesting cast. Many older contestants than we are used to seeing so I think it will be good.

and I can't come up with what it is.

I loved Jen's speech.

Dan is such a doofus. At least he just owned it and said he was wrong. I can see not remembering it the way it happened given a lot of things.

I gained even more love for Jeff when he went to the "maybe you have to take a look at yourself and learn something" approach.

Maybe he will learn something about himself. I hope so.

I am glad Mike won. He played hard and did not quit playing, right to the end. He deserved to win.

I cannot remember a season where I disliked so many of the players. I hope the next season has better personalities.

I can't help but think: what would I be like under similar circumstances? Would I say and do horrible things? Maybe I would, under that type of pressure.

...and I must say I am surprised that she only got one vote...her social skills were second to none...

Loved the Dan deconstruction...

Rodney is still one of the dumbest people to have ever played the game...

So glad Jesus picked the winner again

Not sold on the new season cast yet...

14. I think Mike didn't want the onus of voting her out.

He didn't want to lose her jury vote. If she lost the fire challenge, she couldn't exactly be angry with him.

But Rodney could! Be angry with Mike for 'making' him do the fire challenge, I mean. Typical Rodney! Always angry when people don't just give him things. I think he thought that Jeff Probst's giving him a birthday cake and party hat was a sincere gesture to make up for his very bad horrible birthday on the island.

Still, Rodney is only comically stupid. Dan is malevolently stupid, and I hope we never see his ugliness (and that awful beard!) ever again.

yeah, I think Rodney really believed the cake was sincere while the rest of the world knew it was mocking.

I couldn't tell if Mike was sincere about going up against a better player (Carolyn) or taking the goats to the end. But by leaving it up to fire, he came out looking cleaner.

the thing is, HE doesn't think he's dumb. He thinks he's smart. He thinks he played a good game.

He thinks they got him a cake because they really care.

I didn't know about Dan's remarks to the world on twitter or wherever but Jeff was steamed. He seemed to calm down after Dan's apology but Dan reminded me a lot of people in the news lately: apologize only after they get caught.

I still think Will was an ass. There are things that just should never be said... let alone to someone you know nothing about.

A family member of his got hot under the collar at the finale, too. I guess it's very stressful but it would seem that they'd have hashed most of this out before the finale.

Dan has NO self awareness at all. People like him never win.

but his apology last night was horrible blame the victim like. that should not have been that way. You don't like someone, that is fine, but if you offer to apologize be sincere and do not try to blame them.

In fact it was "god awful" when he suggested that she should forgive him so that she could become the person god intends for her to be (or something to that affect).
